Office Tech/ 1 Fundamentals (753555)
This competency-based course is the first in a sequence of three designed for office technician training. It provides students with technical instruction and practical experience in office procedures. It includes an orientation, safety and ergonomics, telephone techniques, email l, mail, office tools and equipment, data verification/proofreading, records management , reference materials, travel arrangements, grammar, spelling and vocabulary, punctuation, business letter and report writing, reading, listening and speaking skills, and employability skills and resume preparation. (135 hrs)
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Typist: Keyboarding (71-50-88) course.
Office Tech/ 2: Trade Math (753565)
Learn workplace safety, employability and entrepreneurial skills, business mathematics, speed and accuracy utilizing electronic calculators. Review of and use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, fractions, percentage, base and rate, calculator operation. (90 hrs)
Prerequisites: Enrollment requires successful completion to the Office Technician/1: Fundamental (75-35-55) course.
Office Tech/ 3: Trade Employability Skills (753575)
Learn safety and ergonomics, hard skills vs soft skills, interview skills, resume, cover letter, and online job search. (55 hrs)
Prerequisites: Enrollment requires successful completion to the Office Technician/1: Fundamental (75-35-55) and Office Technician/2: Fundamental (75-35-65) courses.
