Steps to become an electrician at HOC

Enroll as a new student: Complete the online enrollment application form as a new student, ensuring your contact information is accurate.
Meet prerequisites: The prerequisites for the Electrician 1: Fundamentals course include passing the CASAS reading assessment with a specific score.
Attend the introductory course: Sign up for and attend the Electrician 1: Fundamentals course, which is a 120-hour program designed to teach safety, trade mathematics, and basic electrical concepts.
Continue with further training: The Electrician 1 course is the first in a series of courses for electrical technician and electrician trainees. You may need to complete additional courses to progress in the program.
Consider enrollment details: Admission is open to individuals 18 and older, but those under 18 need approval from their parent, home school, and HOC Administration. Enrollment is confirmed by attending the first class meeting. -

LAUSD - Learn to Earn - Snapshot

The LAUSD Earn and Learn program is a summer internship initiative that provides high school students with hands-on career experience in various fields like technology, healthcare, and aviation. Through paid internships, students gain real-world experience, develop technical skills, and build mentorships, ultimately connecting education with opportunity and preparing them for high-skill, high-wage careers. The program is free to enroll in and is a partnership between LAUSD and The Broad Foundation.
